課程概述

This is an integrated language course tailored for non-English majors, which integrates all the four language skills—listening, speaking, reading and writing. It is content-based and is designed to help students at a high intermediate level to make full use of their current English proficiency and to further upgrade it to an advanced level.

The first hour of each weekly session is devoted to enhancing students’ listening ability. This hour is flexible, meaning that students may practice at their own pace anywhere they choose. Links to audio or video clips will be provided every week before class in a worksheet, and a listening comprehension quiz on these clips will take place at 10:10am every Tuesday in class.

For the second and third hours, there are six teaching units, each taking around 2 weeks. Activities for each unit include reading, discussion and writing.
